Wonderful staff! Clean, quiet, with a firm bed. Tea kettle with coffee, tea, etc. Refrigerator, air con, nice shower. No road noise.

Everything was wonderful- provided breakfast great, great coffee.

We stayed in a Riverside suite. It was spacious and we enjoyed the patio out front. Breakfast choices were great and you could always pay a small amount to substitute. Restaurant on site was good and staff was very friendly,

We started in a room with an adjoining door which let in alot of sound from neighbors. We requested a new room and the staff was very accommodating.

Location is excellent and staff were attentive; quiet room

AC Unit did not work well - remote control did not work; they did clean room after 1 night

We stayed in a bungalow which was clean and comfortable and tremendous value - we ate at the restaurant most nights which was excellent- the staff are lovely and friendly people

I got a free upgrade, which was very much appreciated.The location is great. Very lively area without being noisy. Only a few minutes walking from the train station, night market nearby too. Great swimming pool and complementary breakfast.

I made a reservation via Booking, thinking it would be automatically charged to the cc i used when booking. However, upon check-in, they said that I had to pay cash at the reception. Since I was short on cash, i couldn't, so they made me pay 5% extra.I have been traveling for a few weeks already, and it is the first time they have charged this commission.The lock of the door was not working properly, and the bathroom had no light. I didn't stay much in the room, so It didn't bother me much at the end

The pool and the location.

We had one of the old family rooms. Very noisy from guests above us. Place looked shabby. I understood though that the new rooms are of a higher standard

Staff were friendly and relaxed. nice pool, food was good, beers were cold.

The staff were fantastic. Breakfast was delicious. Pongphen is right on the river and has a very relaxing feel to it. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay of 7 nights.

Clean and simple room, great food and great pool. Close to the center, the staff helped us with figuring out what to do. Beautiful view on the river.

Loved the location, right on the river, and the staff. The rooms are big and the restaurant serves good food - even if it does try and cater for multiple cuisines. Overall, I enjoyed my stay and it's good value for money.

The property and decor is very dated, and the guesthouse doesn't make the most of its potential. It's right on the river, and could really benefit from having a shaded area by the river to sit, relax and enjoy a drink and sunsets etc. Also the pool is very exposed to the sun and needs some shade. More plants and shade and less concrete is the way forward.

Mix up from Booking.com meant the reserved riverside apartment was unavailable upon arrival, however the guesthouse staff quickly sorted out alternative accomodation - very pleased with the staff service, not so impressed with booking.com.

The room was very nice and well decorated. The pool was also cool.

The staff wasn't friendly in my opinion and the food at the restaurant was really bad. It should be improved for sure.

The staff at this hotel are particularly helpful. Initially I was wondering whether I would enjoy the stay, as I wouldn't normally book a 2* but this hotel is a real find and an absolute bargain. I've stayed in hundreds of hotels, and in terms of value for money,1000 bht per night, including a reasonable breakfast, you will struggle to beat this. Seems I'vebeen wasting money on overrated 5* places all these years

There wasn't anything I particularly disliked, perhaps the only negative would be the bathroom is my room was a bit tired, though very clean. I think i had one of the older rooms which have not been part of a current refurb project.

Great staff who were amazing when one of our group had to go to hospital. Breakfast was tasty and the pool was clean and welcoming. Great situation by the River Kwai. Rooms are basic but functional and very good for the price.

Great location close to the station and night market.Friendly and helpful stuff.Recommended!

The wodden floor makes a lot of noise

Unfortunately there was construction during our stay this was stated prior to booking So not the hotel's fault by any means I was hoping for an early night and much needed sleep after traveling for some time that dayBut Unfortunately I was kept awake by a table of Thai men Arguing and somewhat not Respecting The hotels policy Please be quiet between 10pm-6am There is no night reception So I couldn't complain They finally left just after 12pm night time Again not hotel's fault but they appeared to be associated with the hotel earlier on in the evening. Hotel restaurant shutters opened and staff are on site just after 5am If you need sleep stay away from the restaurant area After eating breakfast and watching I think may have been the owner with his granddaughter Riding up and down on his tuk tuk ?I couldn't bring myself to complain ?About the table outside our bungalow.

Good place to explore the city (close by restaurants and bars), we had booked breakfast as well which was nice as it offers different options

People were a bit noisy during nighttime (even after 2am, but I guess that’s normal in Kanchanaburi which is a lively small town itself), no shade by the pool (not enough sunshades for guests)

Very friendly welcoming staff. Very nice clean bungalow. Good breakfast choice and good breakfast times.

No hairdryer but didn't let this spoil our stay.
